Torote prieto (Bursera laxiflora) grows in the Sonoran Desert, and its bark has been brewed as a household tea for generations. This Doña Mena artisan recipe blends it with propolis and five more carefully selected herbs for a smooth, aromatic cup.
Brew it hot with honey on a cool evening, or make it strong and pour it over ice with lemon. Each box brings 25 tea bags.
Ingredients
Torote prieto (Bursera laxiflora), propolis, eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus), borage (Borago officinalis), brazilwood (Haematoxylum brasiletto), mullein (Gnaphalium attenuatum) and elder (Sambucus mexicana).
Directions
Hot: place one tea bag in a cup, add boiling water and steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Sweeten with sugar or honey to taste. Iced: steep two tea bags per cup, then serve over ice with lemon.
