Turmeric Soap: Why Everyone Is Adding It to Their Routine

Turmeric has colored curries, textiles and wedding rituals for thousands of years. Today the golden root has a new address: the soap dish.

From the kitchen to the bathroom

Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a relative of ginger. In South Asian tradition a paste of turmeric is applied to the skin before weddings for a glowing look. Turmeric soap brings that ritual into an everyday format.

What to expect from a turmeric bar

A good turmeric soap is first of all a good soap: it cleanses without leaving skin tight. Users love it for the fresh, even-looking appearance it gives skin with regular use. Our Turmeric Soap Bar is handmade with an organic natural soap base, turmeric and moisturizers, and is labeled hypoallergenic.

Turmeric soap vs. kojic acid soap

  • Turmeric soap is the gentle, everyday option. It suits people who want a simple bar for face and body.
  • Kojic acid soap adds kojic acid, vitamin C and retinol for a more intensive brightening routine, and calls for more care with sun exposure.

Many people keep both: turmeric for mornings and the body, kojic acid for the evening face wash.

How to use it

  1. Lather on wet skin.
  2. Leave the lather on for a few minutes — up to five.
  3. Rinse well and moisturize.

Will it stain?

The bar rinses clean from skin. To be safe, rinse the sink after use and do not rest the wet bar on light towels or natural stone.

A note on handmade soap

Because it is made in small batches with natural ingredients, the shade of each bar varies a little. That is a feature, not a defect.
